Celebrating Hispanic Heritage at Radiall

11
October 2022

From September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month is nationally recognized. Starting in the middle of the month, it coincides with national independence days in several Latin American countries: Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Mexico. It is a time to recognize, honor and celebrate the influence and contributions that Hispanic Americans have had on our culture.

Celebrating Our Community

Here at Radiall, we are taking the time to highlight Adriana Garcia Almada, an employee who has been with Radiall for nearly 10 years. As the inside sales supervisor, she is responsible for managing the inside sales team located in Obregon, Tempe, Connecticut, and now Portland. Adriana and her team take care of their customers, acting as the liaison between them and the manufacturing facilities.

Since Adriana joined the team in 2013, she said that every coworker along the way has helped shape her today. “I like learning new things, and I have had the opportunity to work with amazing people,” she said.

Adriana initially started her Radiall journey in Obregon but got the opportunity to move to the United States in 2014. “Moving to Tempe has been my best decision,” she said. And becoming a U.S. citizen is her proudest personal accomplishment.

Even in the U.S., Adriana carries her culture and heritage with her. One of the most significant contributions of the Hispanic community has been the assimilation of the Spanish language. And being bilingual in the workplace is “definitely a plus,” Adriana said. She’s able to develop interpersonal skills and meaningful relationships with people she works with on a daily basis.

But Hispanic heritage goes well beyond this month. “It is about our families, values and coming together,” Adriana said. She honors the rich culinary and musical traditions that are rooted in all Latin American countries.

“We are good at making people feel good,” she said. “Everything is done with emphasis: a laugh, hug, kiss, cry and a smile.”

The Hispanic culture has enriched our workplace and world at large, with the strength of closely knit and proud communities. We are proud to be a global community that celebrates cultural diversity and histories throughout our sites. And we are proud to have employees like Adriana on our teams.
