Q&A with Rachid
Rachid is the VP of Industrial Operations.
Q.What did you do when you first started at Radiall?
A.I started as quality supervisor at CHR in the EPX production line.
Q.Can you tell us more about your current role?
A.I am the VP of Industrial Operations, in charge of implementing the industrial strategy to support business development. I think about what practices and processes we can use to keep our competitiveness.
Q.Can you describe your professional journey?
A.I started my journey as a security agent and later came to Radiall as a Quality Supervisor. From there, I was promoted to Product Quality Manager and eventually worked my way up to BU Industrial Operation Director. Now, 23 years later, I am Vice President of Industrial Operations!
Q.What do you enjoy most about your work?
A.I like that I get to directly interact within different functions such as production, supply chain, quality, technical and safety. I get a chance to be transversal within the organization meaning that I work with almost all departments in Radiall, in all regions. It is great to work with different people in other cultures and get to learn new things almost every week.
Q.What is a typical day like for you at Radiall?
A.A typical day for me at Radiall consists of many meetings, lots of critical thinking, de-escalating situations and coaching employees.
Q.What got you interested in this position?
A.I was interested in this position because of the different departments I get to work with, different scenarios throughout the work week, getting to mentor people and support Radiall as a member of the team.
Q.What's the best advice you have for people wanting to pursue a career in this field?
A.My advice would be to make sure you stay consistent, engage yourself, be curious, enjoy interactions and use stress as a seed for self development.
Q.What’s been the proudest moment in your career thus far?
A.The proudest moments of my career are when I receive emails, letters or direct exchanges from Radiall people thanking me for my support (professional or personal), my listening skills, my advice and the way I always challenge them with respect. In any situation, it's important for me to stay positive with a big smile.
