Paris Air Show: Pro Tips & Tricks

June 2019

For those of you attending this year’s Paris Air Show, be sure to stop by Hall 2B-D93 to say hello and check out our booth!

The 53rd Paris Air Show is right around the corner, and we wanted to share our best tips with anyone who might be a first timer this year. After exhibiting at this show for more than 10 years and attending even longer than that, it’s safe to say that we’ve learned a helpful thing or two along the way.

1 | Stay hydrated.
With the flight demonstrations taking place outside in the heat of the day, it’s easy to get dehydrated without realizing it. Carry a water bottle with you so that you remember to drink water. After all, you can’t enjoy the show if you pass out!

2 | Protect your skin.
As we mentioned before, you’ll be spending a lot of time outside during the show. Apply and reapply sunscreen throughout each day, or wear light layers to protect your skin from the sun. Another thing you might need to prepare for is rain. Check the forecast before arriving at the show so you can be ready for whatever the weather brings.

3 | Bring sunglasses.
One of the most exciting parts of Paris Air Show is watching the different flight demonstrations. If you don’t bring sunglasses, watching the planes fly on a sunny day can hurt your eyes. Bring sunglasses so you can enjoy the flight demonstrations without squinting into the sun.

4 | Wear comfortable shoes.
There will be over 2,400 exhibitors at the show, which means there are a ton of booths for you to visit throughout the week! Give your feet a break and bring a pair of comfortable walking shoes.

5 | Have a game plan.
Dolly Godier, the Junior Marketing Product Manager at Radiall Chateau Renault, shared that during her first year at Paris Air Show, she was looking for a detailed plan to navigate the exhibits and maximize her time. The show website includes an Exhibitor’s List, as well as an Interactive Map. The map gives you a detailed view of the show floorplan and allows you to see exactly where exhibiting companies are located.

Taking some time to look at the online map before the show starts will allow you to maximize your time at the Paris Air Show and ensure you interact with the companies you want to.

6 | Review the flight schedule ahead of time.
Check out the list of aircraft that will be flying at the show so that you can prioritize which ones you want to see. The flight demonstrations will take place every day from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Before the show begins, there will be a flight schedule on the Paris Air Show website. Review the schedule prior to the show so that you don’t miss the ones that interest you.

7 | Be patient.
Be prepared to stand in lines throughout the day. With so many attendees at the show, you’ll most likely be waiting in long lines to order food, catch the shuttle, go to the restroom and even talk to exhibitors. Don’t let the lines stress you out. Be patient, enjoy the process and make the most of it by networking with the people in line around you. After all, they’re probably at the show for the same reasons you are!

The Paris Air Show is the perfect place to learn about and see the latest aerospace technologies. If you go in with a game plan to maximize your time and a predetermined mindset to be patient and enjoy yourself, your first year will be one to remember. Don’t forget to stop by our booth…we have a special guest for you to meet! See you soon!
