Good mental health is a fundamental element that contributes to a person’s quality of life and overall well being. Our mental health affects the way we think, feel and act on a day to day basis. The quality of mental health impacts how we deal with everyday stress, as well as major stressors. At Radiall, we value our employees’ mental health, and we strive to cultivate an overarching culture that promotes good mental health for all of our employees. One way we do this is through encouraging a healthy work-life balance. Radiall Obregon prioritizes employee mental health by creating a safe space for women to be seen, heard and educated on a variety of important topics surrounding mental health.

Radiall Obregon is taking steps to support female employees’ mental health, especially with the stress of the past two years affecting so many. Over the past two years, as the pandemic deepens economic and social stress worldwide, the increase in violence against women has intensified and brought serious consequences for the mental health of women. Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the world, and it is twice as common in women than in men, according to the World Health Organization

Con M de Mujer is a program that Radiall Obregon established in 2018 to empower and promote mental health for female employees. This program gives women at Radiall the opportunity to participate in awareness sessions, talks and workshops to learn and develop tools that can help them through the challenges that so many of them face today. The site hosts sessions on self esteem, relational conflict, domestic violence, parent-child communication and more. These topics are taught by local health professionals and psychologists.

In 2021, approximately 380 female employees attended these sessions, where they had the opportunity to learn from experts and share their personal experiences with others. Radiall Obregon has plans to continue supporting its female employees this year through more sessions on mental health, which will in turn positively impact our local community.
