Christian is a Field Applications Engineer at Radiall Tempe.

Q. How long have you worked at Radiall?

A. I’ve been with Radiall for a little over 2 years.

Q. What did you do when you first started at Radiall?

A. I joined Radiall as a Field Applications Engineer (FAE), and I continue to serve in that role today.

Q. Can you tell us more about your current role?

A. As a Field Applications Engineer, I provide technical expertise and support to Radiall’s Sales Organization and our customers. My role bridges the gap between our customers and Radiall’s internal teams — including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality — to deliver the most effective and profitable solutions for various applications.

I work closely with customer engineering teams to understand their requirements, propose solutions, and ensure Radiall products align with their needs. This often includes involvement with specifications, compliance matrices, identifying new opportunities, and supporting customers through product development.

Unlike many FAEs who are regionally based, I specialize in Multipin Aerospace products and serve as the dedicated technical point of contact for major airframers such as Boeing, Airbus Canada, and Gulfstream, as well as key equipment manufacturers like Honeywell. In this capacity, I focus on building strong technical relationships through responsive support, on-site visits, and direct collaboration.

I also act as a technical lead for new product introductions, diversification initiatives, and business development opportunities within Multipin Aerospace.

Another key responsibility is serving as a liaison between our customers and the Multipin Business Unit — communicating our roadmap, sharing feedback from the North American market, and helping align strategies for future growth.

Q. What is a typical day like for you at Radiall?

A. My role keeps me on my toes — every day looks different, which keeps the work exciting and engaging

When I’m in the office, I’m often answering technical questions, reviewing opportunities, reviewing GPENs or working directly with customer engineering teams to solve problems and present solutions. I also interact with customers through Radiall’s website as a chatbot agent, helping filter inquiries and shaping business cases to determine which opportunities to pursue.

When I’m traveling, I collaborate closely with my Sales colleagues to prepare for customer visits, aligning on strategy and goals. During meetings, I typically serve as the main presenter, guiding technical discussions with presentations and product demonstrations. I also make it a point to visit customer labs and production lines whenever possible — gaining valuable perspective on how our products are used, and uncovering opportunities for Radiall to expand its role in their systems.

Much of my day-to-day centers around supporting key accounts with timely, accurate technical information. When I encounter a particularly complex question, I work directly with our design teams in Obregón or Château-Renault to ensure customers receive informed, reliable answers.

I also dedicate time to researching new customers to better understand how Radiall can meet their needs.

Q. What do you like most about your work?

A. It’s hard to choose just one thing — but a few highlights stand out.

I enjoy the opportunity to travel and see firsthand how our products integrate into customer systems. Whether it’s walking through a Gulfstream jet in mid-production or seeing aircraft wiring during assembly, those experiences give me a broader perspective on the impact of Radiall’s solutions.

I also thrive on the challenge of solving complex problems alongside customers. Aerospace is a demanding field with many variables to consider, and I find it rewarding to innovate and collaborate in that environment.

Finally, I truly value the global nature of my role. I interact daily with colleagues and customers across North America, Mexico, and France, as well as others worldwide. Working across different languages and cultures not only makes the work more interesting, but also helps me grow both professionally and personally.

Q. What’s been one of the proudest moments in your career?

A. One of my proudest moments came just a few months after I joined Radiall. During onboarding, FAEs face a steep learning curve — with a wide range of products and systems to master. With a passion for aerospace, a background in design, and a curiosity for how things work, I quickly immersed myself in learning Radiall’s Multipin Aerospace products and the complex systems they support.

Because I adapted quickly, I was entrusted early on with supporting key accounts that I now lead today. I also had the privilege of working closely with a Senior Design Engineer who generously mentored me in technical design, customer relations, and the broader business aspects of Multipin Aerospace.

Looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come in just over two years — from a new hire absorbing knowledge to becoming Radiall’s North American Multipin Aerospace expert. That journey, and the trust I’ve earned along the way, remains one of the highlights of my career.
