Global Supply & Manufacturing Footprint: Radiall’s Strategy in a Changing World

November 2025

In a world defined by rapid technological shifts, geopolitical uncertainty and rising environmental expectations, industrial companies face mounting pressure to rethink how and where they operate. Radiall—an international leader in interconnect solutions for aerospace, defense, telecom and industrial markets—has chosen a clear path forward: grow globally, operate locally and transform sustainably.

This strategy is not new; it is embedded in the company’s DNA. Since 1952, Radiall has expanded across continents, building 12 manufacturing facilities and a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees. Yet what makes Radiall’s approach especially compelling today is the way it blends global reach with long-term responsibility; to its customers, its people and the planet.

A Global Network Designed for Resilience and Excellence

Radiall’s global footprint spans France, Italy, the United States, Mexico, China and India. Across these sites, the company cultivates industrial expertise in molding, plating, machining and assembly, enabling it to serve demanding sectors such as aerospace, rail, telecom, defense and medical systems with locally delivered support and reliability.

What differentiates Radiall’s network is not only its size, but also its operating philosophy: local autonomy paired with unified values and governance. Compliance frameworks, including a Group-wide Code of Ethical and Social Conduct and whistleblowing mechanisms, ensure that integrity and transparency accompany operations in every region.

Supplier partnerships also reflect this long-term mindset. Radiall works with approximately 1,200 active suppliers—primarily SMEs—and emphasizes objectivity, social responsibility and environmental compliance in its procurement practices, including adherence to RoHS, REACH, anti-corruption standards and human rights conventions.

In an era of supply chain volatility, Radiall has embraced regionalization as both a resilience and sustainability strategy, particularly in the Grenoble region of France, where the company actively participates in local economic networks to strengthen supplier ecosystems. The result is a manufacturing model that balances global scale with local strength.

Innovating for the Future of Critical Industries

Radiall’s global footprint directly supports its innovation agenda, expressed through its Purpose initiative, “Developing Technologies for Good.” Across its sites, multidisciplinary teams are advancing technologies that shape critical societal transitions.

Decarbonizing Aerospace

Radiall is a member of GIFAS working groups focused on low-carbon aircraft, collaborating on breakthroughs in electrification and high-voltage systems that will be essential to aviation’s decarbonization path toward 2035. As aircraft shift from hydraulic to electric systems, connectors must withstand extreme altitude, voltage and temperature conditions. These are areas where Radiall’s R&D teams are driving new standards in reliability.

Supporting Smarter Mobility & Rail

As urbanization accelerates, Radiall provides high-performance connectors for rolling stock and infrastructure, meeting the rising need for cross-border interoperability under initiatives such as the European ERTMS program.

Digital Infrastructure & Telecom

The surge in data usage, driven by 5G, 6G and satellite constellations, demands efficient, sustainable network solutions. Radiall addresses this by developing advanced interconnects and participating in alliances to reduce data-center energy consumption, including initiatives to replace air cooling with more efficient liquid-based methods.

Whether in space, defense, industrial systems or future mobility, Radiall’s global sites function as interconnected innovation hubs designed to solve complex technical and environmental challenges.

Transforming Industrial Operations for a Low-Carbon Future

Radiall’s ability to maintain a global manufacturing presence while reducing its environmental impact is central to its long-term strategy.

The company’s annual greenhouse-gas footprint remained stable at 55,849 tCO₂e in 2024 despite nearly 10% growth in business activity—progress attributed to significant energy-efficiency gains, particularly at the Shanghai plant. To guide deeper change, Radiall adopted the ACT (Assessing low Carbon Transition) methodology endorsed by ADEME, setting a Group-wide target of reducing carbon intensity by 7% per year across Scopes 1, 2 and upstream Scope 3 emissions.

Circular Materials & Eco-Design

A major milestone was achieved with Radiall’s transition to 100% recycled gold for internal production use in 2023—a move recognized by the Safran Low Carbon Suppliers Award in 2024. This shift dramatically reduces the footprint of surface treatments while maintaining demanding performance requirements.

Energy-Efficient Production Sites

Across France, Radiall has deployed LED lighting, improved insulation, advanced metering and renewable electricity procurement—achieving a 100% renewable electricity mix at French production sites (41% Group-wide). In addition, the Shanghai facility was designed from the ground up for energy performance, incorporating waste-heat recovery systems and earning LEED Gold certification.

Water and Waste Management

Closed-loop water systems in Shanghai and Centr’Alp minimize industrial water waste, while scrap metal, chemicals and bio-waste are recycled to reduce environmental impact. Radiall reported zero environmental accidents across all industrial sites in 2024, reflecting rigorous risk-prevention measures and sealed-floor installations around sensitive equipment.

Empowering People in Every Region

A global footprint only functions as strongly as the people who sustain it. Radiall’s workforce of 3,000 employees embodies significant diversity across cultures, genders and professions, supported by robust health, safety and development programs.

Health & Safety as Cornerstones

The company’s Healthy Together program implements over 100 initiatives annually across global sites, focusing on ergonomics, prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and mental well-being. Cobots have been deployed in several plants to reduce repetitive strain and improve working conditions.

Diversity & Inclusion

Programs such as “M de Mujer” in Mexico and a long-standing partnership with the Elles Bougent association demonstrate Radiall’s commitment to representation, gender equality and social awareness across its sites.

Innovation from Within

Through internal entrepreneurship initiatives incubated in our innovative intrapreneurship Explorers program, employees can launch new ventures such as MOB&Co, a connector solution for off-site construction currently progressing toward commercial launch in 2026.

This global people strategy strengthens Radiall’s ability to grow sustainably in every region where it operates.

Building a Future-Ready Global Industrial Model

Radiall’s global manufacturing footprint is not simply the result of decades of international expansion. It is a strategic system—purpose-driven, resilient and evolving—that enables the company to innovate for high-stakes industries while meeting its environmental and social responsibilities.

In a changing world, Radiall demonstrates that global manufacturing can be both agile and sustainable when built on long-term partnerships, strong values and a commitment to transforming industrial practices for the better.
