The customer needed optical interconnect systems capable of integrating seamlessly into high-density equipment while maintaining exceptional performance in a compact space. The requirements included developing a single and multiple fiber transceiver with a very small footprint that could transmit data at up to 10.3 Gbps. Additionally, the customer demanded rapid prototyping to meet tight schedules and required a partner capable of scaling production to meet significant annual quantities.

The resulting small form factor and low profile design made it a perfect fit for the targeted compact spaces, ensuring the right integration into high density equipment as in aircraft fighters.
