A new edge card MMBX receptacle

Saving space and ensuring ease of utilization

Radiall announced the addition of a new mmbx edge card receptacle R223423010. This new design requires a cut off on the PCB and offers a more robust and better retention on PCB.

Using an edge card receptacle, application for mother card to daughter card is possible.

A good alternative to MCX (height of 7.65 mm) or SMB (height of 11.7 mm) configuration.

MMBX connectors enable quick and easy connections and allow a minimum board-to-board height of 7 mm.

An issue with board-to-board connections is misalignment tolerances.

By using an in-series adapter and the design of the series, MMBX connectors handle an axial misalignment of 0.6 mm and a radial misalignment of 0.4 mm. This makes the connector assembly easier by compensating the shearing generated by other components placed on the board.

Features:

  • 50 ohms applications from DC to 12.4 GHz
  • Large range of connectors: straight and right-angle plugs, female or male receptacles in SMT or through hole-version, edge-card receptacles, in-series adapters and SMA-MMBX adapters.
  • Packaging: standard bulk packages or in tape&reel offering a good price-to-performance ratio.

Radiall MMBX connector series has been developed particularly for board-to-board connection in second and third generation telecommunication systems (GSM, PCS, WCDMA, UMTS, etc.) as well as military applications.
