SMP : A New measurement board

Now available from Radiall, a new evaluation test and measurement board with two SMP edge card receptacles.

Radiall's SMP connectors were developed to help designers reduce the size and increase the density on MIC (Micro Integrated Circuit) packaging.

SMP connectors offer superior high performance:

  • Frequency ranges up to 40GHz with 50 ohm impedance
  • The edge-card receptacle presents a 1.15 Max. VSWR and an insertion loss of 0.12 x √F(GHz) dB Max.
  • Excellent vibration and shock performance
  • Axial float of  0.25mm and radial misalignment of ± 0.25mm (through a snap-on or slide-on blindmate interconnection system)
  • Compliant with applicable MIL and DESC standards
  • The internal diameter of the male interface provides three different retention forces (full detent, limited detent, smooth bore) with corresponding (100, 500, 1,000) mating cycles
  • Their small size permits connector center to center spacing as low as 4.8 mm, and board to board spacing of 8.3 mm

N.B.: The technical data sheet provides plots with RF measurement data. The procedure for the soldering process is also included.

The RADIALL SMP product range:

The SMP range includes: straight and right angle connectors for semi-rigid and flexible cables, straight and right angle receptacles, and adapters.

Radiall also offers multi-port connectors with SMP interfaces optimizing the density and misalignment tolerances.

RF and Microwave applications:

The SMP series has been designed for military applications such as phased arrays, active antennas, satellites, airborne, shipboard or ground radar.
