Quadlight active inserts can be proposed as transmitters, receivers and transceivers for bit rates ranging from few Mbps to 1.25Gbps
For the transceiver version, a single fiber single wavelength full duplex bidirectional interconnect concept will be proposed, enabling a reduction by 2 of the requested number of connectors and cables within the optical link.
AFDX media conversion is the other major innovation enabled by the Quadlight family. Quadlight contacts will indeed integrate a proprietary AFDX media conversion circuitry compatible with both 10Mbps and 100Mbps operation. As such, they will permit the direct replacement of heavy Cat-V shielded twisted pairs used within existing AFDX links, thereby offering a potential 10 time weight reduction at the interconnect level.
